About the authors
G Shainesh
G Shainesh is a Professor of Marketing at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). His research and teaching focus on Digital Marketing Strategies, CRM and Service Innovations. As IIMB’s Dean – Administration (2014-17), Shainesh steered several programs to improve the biodiversity and sustainability of the campus. He is a member of the Executive Board of the International Sustainable Development Research Society and the Academy of International Business – South Asia Chapter (AIB-SAC). Shainesh is a nature enthusiast, trekker and avid birder. Scuba diving and snorkelling in the Andamans, white water rafting in the Ganga and Kali rivers, trekking in Kabini, Silent Valley, Kudremukh, Coorg, Chikamagalur, Wayanad, Grand Canyon, Lake District and Muir Woods and hiking in the Alps at Innsbruck, Appenzell and St. Gallen are among some of his most memorable experiences in nature.
Priya Venkatesh
Priya Venkatesh is founder director of The Naturalist School, a pioneering initiative in India, transforming the Indian landscape through structured formal courses for Nature Interpreters – aimed at Conservation through formal Education and responsible Ecotourism. Priya herself, a leadership consultant with Ozone Experiential Learning, has designed experiential Programmes. Priya is a volunteer with WWF (India), she has a passion for wildlife and the outdoors and has led open groups, school children and corporate leaders, through various wilderness camps and nature walks. Priya is a Master Trainer and Assessor with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. She is one of the few women from Bangalore to have crossed the Arctic and Antarctic Circles with a mission on Climate Change and Sustainability. Karthikeyan S
For nearly four decades, Karthikeyan S has passionately immersed himself in the world of Nature with a primary focus on birdwatching and a secondary fascination with butterflies. He is also an enthusiastic amateur photographer. Over the years, his lens has captured a diverse array of subjects ranging from landscapes to mammals, reptiles, and insects. Beyond photography, Karthik is a dedicated educator, spreading awareness about natural history. He has conducted faunal surveys in various reserves, and also studied the lesser-known Indian Tree Shrew briefly. Before assuming the role of Chief Naturalist at Jungle Lodges and Resorts Ltd., Karthik dedicated over 13 years to WWF-India. His dedication to wildlife conservation earned him the prestigious Carl Zeiss Wildlife Conservation Award in March 2013. He connects with the world through his blog www.wildwanderer.com
