About the authors
Puneetinder Kaur Sidhu writes about travel, food and culture out of Chandigarh, India. She has authored over a dozen guides for Lonely Planet India, including Great Escapes North India, Best Hill Escapes, Best Weekend Escapes Delhi, and Best Weekend Escapes Bengaluru. She has written Lonely Planet’s Heritage Arc editions for Uttar Pradesh Tourism, a pocket guide series for Chhattisgarh Tourism, and Guru Nanak’s Blessed Trail for Punjab Tourism. She co-writes Lonely Planet’s international edition of the India guide, as also Experience India, their newly minted guide-books.
Sidhu’s other works include a driving guide titled Experience Punjab on the Road; a book about the state’s food traditions, Punjab–A Culinary Delight; and Simhastha Kumbh: Making of the Mahaparv, a comprehensive, self-experienced account of the Kumbh Mela in Ujjain. She has been a travel and food columnist with Hindustan Times, and a literary critic, food columnist and travel contributor with The Tribune, and has written on a wide range of subjects for Hindu Business Line, HT Mint and Huffington Post.
